UPDATED November 02, 2012:   The 2013 Conference is accepting registrations.  Yes, we are open for business!  Everything you need to register can be found under the DETAILS tab above. Be sure to open, print, and read the full class description pdf found under the DETAILS tab. It contains extensive information for every class. Please also check the CLASSES page for color photos of each project.  The DETAILS page has links to all the documents and information needed for registration and the Conference itself.  Bob fills the classes on a first come, first served basis. All registrations must be submited by snail mail. We will keep the CLASSES page updated with filled class information.

We will be welcoming Chris Goldapp next March as the Washington State International Kite Festival handcrafted apprentice competition Ft. Worden package winner. Congratulations! And remember the 2013 Raffle tickets you bought? The winners of the 2013 package are Anne Huston and Cliff Pennell. Congratulations to both! We look forward to sharing a great conference with Chris, Anne and Cliff.


And what is Fort Worden Kitemakers Conference? It is a wonderful gathering of kite makers from all around the world. It is an opportunity to learn, share information, and socialize with kite friends, new and old. We strive to have classes for everyone. Each year our curriculum committee puts together an exceptional list of teachers with classes to accommodate all skill levels and kiting interests. You are invited to join us for an unforgettable weekend! Click on the classes tab above to see our proposed class/teacher list.

Dates for 2013         
The dates for the 2013 Fort Worden Kitemakers Conference are March 14th through the 17th.  Be sure you are on our contact list for emailed updates. If you did not get an email from us regarding the 2012 conference,  drop Bob a note. He will be happy to add your name to our mailing list. Do you have a friend interested in attending the 2013 conference? Have them send us their email address and be placed on our mailing list, too.  We want you to join us next year!

March and April:  Teachers apply for the following year's conference with their class offering(s).  Click here for more information: DETAILS.

May and June:  Teachers and classes are selected and confirmed.

July and August:  Brochures will be ready to release throughout the world.  A preview of class offerings gets posted on the Classes page. We will let you know when that preview is on-line via email.

November:  Registration forms are made available by download (or through the mail if requested). You can print yours right from your computer! They will be available through the Details tab above.  Processing of registration forms happens as we receive them, first come, first served basis. Be on our email list so you will know the exact release date of the registration form and all the supporting information.

 

Spread the Word


Our planning committee will produce flyers describing the conference and the dates. You can use these to share with your friends and associates. They will be available at kite events and kite shops this summer. Thank you for spreading the word about our conference!
